Let Mister Private guide you to a great shave.
The best place to shave your legs is in the shower, where your skin will be wet and soft from the heat and moisture. You should exfoliate your skin before you shave to clean off all of your dead skin cells that might clog your razor. Then, apply shaving cream. Soap doesnít create a thick enough lather and can actually make your razor slip. Start at your ankles and shave upward. The best razors have lubricated strips, pivoting heads and spring-mounted blades. When youíre done, rub on lotion made for sensitive skin. This will calm your skin and restore moisture.
For men, the most popular area to shave is your face. If youíre shaving with a normal razor, first take a warm washcloth and wrap it around your beard to sufficiently wet the area. This will soften your beard and help eliminate razor burn. Then, apply a thin layer of shaving cream. Take your razor and shave from the top of the beard to the edge of your jawline, in long strokes. To shave under your neck and chin, shave from the bottom of your neck upwards. To shave your mustache, tighten your face around the mouth. After each swipe, rinse out the razor in the sink. Make sure you didnít miss any areas! When youíre done, splash your face with cold water and apply aftershave lotion.
If youre using an electric razor, wash and dry your face. Then use a pre-shave lotion or gel. Take the razor and shave against the grain of your whiskers. Donít press down and remember to go slowly. When youíre done, you can apply an aftershave lotion. Donít forget to clean out your electric razor as needed.
Both women and men should change disposable razorblades after every four to five shaves. Dull and dirty blades lead to personal injury. Leave it to Mister Private to protect you from bad shaving habits!
