Ortho Options Gynol II Vaginal Contraceptive Jelly is made for use with a diaphragm.
Otho Options Gynol II jelly is pleasantly scented, water- soluable, non-greasy and provides some lubrication. It contains fast acting spermicide Nonoxynol-9, and is designed specifically for use with a diaphragm. The diaphragm alone cannot effectively prevent pregnancy.
Things to Note:
- The active ingredient in Ortho Gynol II (Nonoxynol-9) is different than a discontinued product that the same company made in the past (Octoxynol-9). No products are currently available with Octoxynol-9.
- The diaphragm and Ortho Options Gynol II are effective for up to six hours.
- An additional application may be necessary if intercourse occurs more than six hours after insertion.
