|Run for your life! Bad breath (halitosis) is the #1 cause of social dysfunction, meaning wherever you are—the bar, the gym, the mall, your bed—if your breath is kickin’, people will be running from you. Mister Private will put on his gas mask and help you eliminate your bad breath. The odor emanating from your mouth can be caused by the foods you eat, specifically onions, garlic and alcohol. Smoking or diseases like chronic lung infections, kidney failure, diabetes or acid reflux can cause it. Bad breath can be the result of mouth, nose and throat conditions, even something as simple as the common cold. It can also develop in those who diet severely, a condition called ketoacidosis, or the breakdown of chemicals in the human body during fasting.
However, bad breath can come from poor dental hygiene and periodontal disease. If you don’t take care of your mouth, plaque can develop and you can experience tooth decay. This can lead to a foul odor.
Follow Mister Private’s Plan for Super Great Superhero Breath and keep bad breath at bay.
- Brush your teeth twice a day.
- Use mouthwash twice a day.
- Floss once a day.
- Clean your tongue once a day.
Visit the dentist every six months.
Drink a lot of water and avoid foods and drinks that will leave a stinky aftertaste.
You should buy a new toothbrush every three to four months. Also, try breathing through your nose, since breathing through your mouth can make it dry and crusty. Carry breath mints or gum with you to keep you out of harm’s way.
